Chinatown: Then and Now

A Wednesday morning ride on the Marguerite and CalTrain allowed us to travel in time – from Chinatown’s first years to the thriving district it is now. Stanford Archaeology Center’s City Beneath the City exhibition explained Chinatown’s history with several artifacts, making it possible to distinguish between the different time periods of a unique part of the Bay Area.  The interactive picture below is of Chinatown as it looks today – put your mouse over the red and white targets to learn more about specific exhibit artifacts, and what they look like now.
